Rule 1.4 Situation Not Covered By Rules.
When a situation occurs that is not covered by a SOP, Rule, General Order, General Notice, Memorandum, or Alert, employees must use good judgement and follow the safest course of action. Employees must report these situations to RCC and / or their immediate Supervisor as soon as possible.
In a case like this it is up to the Supervisor to determine if you used the SAFEST course of action. The way that a Level 4 infraction works is that for the first offense you are terminated, or if you're lucky just suspended for 5 days without pay. For this reason we should always be thinking Safety and Professionalism, so that when an unforeseen event occurs we choose the safest or most professional course of action. So if you experience a person blocking your bus, or a child throwing rocks at your bus or any other unexpected situation, your first thought should be the SAFETY of your passengers, yourself and your bus. And to inform the Dispatcher as soon as possible.
So remember: Just be Safe and Professional at all times.
