Past President of Local 1177 Elected Vice President Of Norfolk Labor's League for Political Education
American Federation of Labor unions in the city of Norfolk have formed a local league with its principal objective the qualifying of all members and their families to vote.
The League will be known as "Norfolk Labor's League For Political Education" the organization has set its goal at having all members of Organized Labor qualified and ready to vote in the July election 1955. The League will push active support of candidates who are favorable to labor, and "endeavor to keep members of organized labor informed on the records of all public office holders."

Johnson (Amalgamated Association of Street, Electric Railway and Motor Coach Employees of America, Division No. 1177); recording secretary, J. D. Christian, (Norfolk-Portsmouth Printing Pressmen Local No. 220); treasurer, M. M. Price (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, 980); trustees, J. W. Maxfield (International Union of Operating Engineers Local 147), Warren Ashley (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 80), and W. A. Williams, (Painters Local 1100).
