"You can't run a Union from the office." ATU President, John Costa
ATU President John Costa visited Local 1177 for the first time in our 83 year history.

President Costa congratulated the Local on ratifying their Contract with the highest pay raise ever.

He also recognized the 156 brothers and sisters that Amalgamated Transit Union has lost, as well as AFL-CIO President Richard Trumpka who recently passed.

When a member asked him what we should expect with the Delta variant, and the resurgence of Covid cases. He said that he is confident with the precautions that ATU have been taking because we haven't lost a member in a long time. President Costa replied that each state, each company and each local will have their own policies, and that the Union Leaders of Local 1177 will keep you informed.
